Hi
everyone!
I'm in Innsbruck at the moment enjoying the Euro Soccer and my home. It's always
lovely to relax here after the French Open. It's been 2 busy and exciting weeks
again in Paris.
Anyway there's a new number one in women's tennis which I think is just
fantastic. Ana Ivanovic is a great ambassador for the sport. She plays an
aggressive style of tennis which the spectators love to watch and she also
understands the history and tradition of the game. With her all round game she
will be extremely tough to beat on all surfaces and should lead the future of
women's tennis.
I was hoping for Roger Federer to create history in Paris and win the men's
final. All credit must go to Rafael Nadal, he is the undisputed king of clay. We
are probably witnessing the greatest clay court player of all time. It really
should be no surprise at the ease in which he beat Federer in the final, as
Nadal has never lost a match at Roland Garros and only lost 1 set in the past
two years. It will be interesting to see how Federer responds on the grass at
Wimbledon. He will have his work cut out as Nadal has just won his first grass
court tournament at Queens and is full of confidence.
I have been playing a fair bit of tennis myself lately. As every year I will be
playing an exhibition match in Graz, during the Seniors Event in August. They
have all the big names playing it and it will be exciting to see Australia's Pat
Rafter make his debut on the Senior Tour.
Keep enjoying,
