Barbara Schwartz beat Croatia's Jelena Kostanic 4-6 6-3 8-6 on Sunday to lead Austria into the Federation Cup semi-finals.
 

The win gave Austria a decisive 3-1 lead as Schwartz came back after losing the first set to raise her game to level the match by winning the second.
 

She fell behind again in the third but fended off three match points and finally clinched a hard-fought victory.
 

Earlier, Croatia's Iva Majoli defeated Austria's Barbara Schett in straight sets, briefly lifting Croatia's hopes.
 

Austria will play Spain in the semi-final, set to be played in late October.
